Last week, Big Sean invited Billboard to see his collection of vintage T-shirts, and after enforcing his no-shoes-in-the-house policy, we got to the good stuff. Among his Waiting to Exhale, Wu-Tang Clan and Janet Jackson 1994 world tour tees, is also one that correctly calls Selena the Queen of Tejano music. Big Sean is serious about his shirts. He only has about 30 to 40 tees, and he wouldn’t give up the name of the place he buys them. So it’s fitting that he got one honoring Selena. “Selena’s a legend,” he said. “She did it big; she was the first. I’m going to rock her on the tee, just like I rock Tupac, just like I rock Biggie.”
Selena doesn’t need Big Sean and Drake to give her attention (after all, she has her own makeup line now), but it’s pretty cool to see mainstream artists giving her the credit she deserves. The only real question now is: Who wore their Selena shirt best?
