It’s been 39 days since she went on the run, but WhatsApp mayor Lidiane Leite has turned herself in. Last month, Leite, 25, was the focus of international attention after it was reported that she ran Bom Jardim through WhatsApp, while she was living it up in Maranhão. She checked in with her cabinet once a day through the app, but it wasn’t hard for the town to know what their invisible mayor was up to. The Tico Times reports that Leite would post images of herself vacationing and partying. She quickly became known for her flashy lifestyle.

But her crime is not only being an inept mayor. She is also suspected of embezzling $3.6 million from the town. Leite ran for mayor after her then-boyfriend, Beto Rocha, was banned from running in 2012 due to corruption charges. When she won, she hired Rocha as her advisor, and he reportedly made the decisions until they broke up earlier this year.

Unfortunately for Leite, she’ll likely have to exchange her cell phone for a cell block. Her snap stories are definitely going to take a hit.
