The 99th edition of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is coming, and the cast of the Broadway show Buena Vista Social Club is set to celebrate it in style. On November 27, the cast of the musical—which won 5 Tony Awards this year—will bring Cuban rhythm to the iconic parade that marks the official start of the Christmas season.
Buena Vista Social Club is the first Broadway musical with music entirely in Spanish, which makes it all the more important that they will participate in the parade, which reaches millions of homes and viewers across the country and Latin America every year.
The show recently got its first Grammy nomination for Best Musical Theater Album, and this year won 5 Tony Awards: Best Featured Actress in a Musical, Best Choreography, Best Orchestrations, Best Sound Design of a Musical, and a Special Tony Award, which was given to the band that performed in the show.
“The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade brings families together like nothing else on television and remains a beloved tradition for millions,” said Jen Neal, executive vice president, Live Events and Specials, NBCUniversal Entertainment.
“Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is the official kickoff to the holiday season and has been part of the nation’s stories and traditions for generations,” added Will Coss, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade executive producer, adding that, “The most wonderful stories start at the Parade.”
The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will take place on Thursday, November 27, 2025. It will start at 8:30 AM through the streets of Manhattan. Today‘s Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Al Roker will host the annual celebration, which will have an encore broadcast set for NBC at 2 PM.
Other Broadway casts set to participate in the parade include Just In Time and the revival of Ragtime.
