New York will have the honor of being the host city for the US premiere of the new Café Tacuba documentary, Seguir Siendo. Yet another reason for New Yorkers to feel entitled. The ever-popular Hola México Film Festival will open its NYC fest doors for the third year on Wednesday, June 2nd with the band’s documentary. Directed by Ernesto Contreras and José Manuel Cravioto, the movie began as a short film about Cafe Tacuba’s trip to Japan, but turned into a 80-minute look into their day-to-day tour and home life.
Get more details on the Café Tacuba screening and after party (with some special partygoers– Rubén and Meme!) in our event listings. Hola México just finished touring five major cities across the US, but this final stop in New York is the only one featuring the Café Tacuba hook-up.
If anything, it’ll be a glorious hour and 20 minutes of Rubén and the boys. And music. And booze. Can’t really complain.
