Rapper Cardi B and conservative political commentator Candace Owens threw virtual punches back and forth on Twitter on Tuesday after Owens criticized Cardi’s provocative performance at the Grammys Sunday night on Fox News.

Cardi responded first to a video of Owens on Tucker Carlson Tonight. On the show, Owens said that Cardi was contributing to the “destruction of American values and American principles.” Cardi mocked the appearance, joking on Twitter, “Yaaaayyyyyyy WE MADE FOX NEWS GUYS!!!”

Owens countered by telling Cardi she was a “cancer cell to culture” and that she should thank her for telling her the “truth.”

The gloves came off for the rest of the day as the two exchanged jabs. Cardi referred to Owens as “Candy,” while Owens called Cardi by her birth name, Belcalis. Cardi did take the time to “thank” Owens for helping promote the songs she finds distasteful.

Cardi also pulled out some receipts when she shared a 2018 tweet from Owens that said she’s “been watching her since Love & Hip Hop,” the VH1 reality show Cardi starred in for two seasons.

She then pulled out what she alleged to be a tweet posted by Owens about her husband cheating on her with her brother. Owens called it a “photoshopped tweet” and then threatened to sue Cardi for “slandering” her sibling.

There was a lot more squabbling, but we’ll end with one of Owens’ last tweets Tuesday night where she pretends like #Candace is trending because everyone is tweeting about her new upcoming show and not because she just finished butting heads with Cardi.
