Comedian Dave Chapelle might be at the top of YouTube’s list for releasing the most popular video of the year with his politically-charged 8:46, but a handful of Latinx creators and musicians also made the cut for its 2020 rundown.

Coming in at No. 4 on YouTube’s list of Top Breakout Creators this year is EddieVR, a Mexican gamer whose content includes playing virtual reality video games online and creating skits. In one of his most popular videos this year, EddieVR takes on the role of a ghost hunter and plays the horror-themed video game Phasmophobia with his friends at 3 a.m. Since August, the video has racked up 4.4 million views.

“Hello! We’ve come to steal your pinche TV, güey, and your bike and radio, too!” EddieVR screams in Spanish as he maneuvers his character through a virtual haunted house. EddieVR’s YouTube channel currently boasts 4.9 million subscribers.

Although very little is known about the real identity of online gamer Corpse Husband, the YouTuber, who came in No. 8 on YouTube’s list of Top Breakout Creators, revealed on Instagram stories this year that he is half Mexican and half Irish. But since his 5.4 million subscribers have never seen him and can only hear his distinctive deep voice, nothing can be confirmed besides the fact that he loves playing Among Us.

Taking the No. 8 spot on YouTube’s list of Top Creators is The Royalty Family featuring married couple Andrea, who was born in Colombia, and Ali, who is from Lebanon, and their two kids Ferran and Prince Milan. The family records themselves going to waterparks, on vacation to Dubai, and doing online challenges, among other things. They currently have 10.8 million YouTube subscribers.

On YouTube’s list of Top Music Videos of 2020, Mexican-Puerto Rican rapper Tekashi69’s video “GOOBA” came in No. 2 with over 639 million views since May 2020. Also, Afro-Latina rapper Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion finished at No. 5 with their “WAP” video, which has over 298 million views since August 2020.

Here’s to hoping Doña Ángela and her YouTube cooking channel De mi Rancho a Tu Cocina lands on the list next year.
