Jorge Lopez captured our screens and hearts when he was introduced into Netflix’s “Elite” franchise for its sultry second season. Three bloody seasons in, it’s hard to remember the show without him and honestly why would we want to. The Chilean actor recently spoke to VMan about life in quarantine.

Though he hails from Chile, Lopez currently resides in Madrid and dreams of Los Angeles in the future. As was the case when he took on the hell-raising, closeted sensitive role on one of Netflix’s most beloved shows, the 28-year-old is always up for a challenge. “But it’s not something I obsess over,” he tells the magazine. “I am super comfortable in Madrid.”

But, truth is, he may not have a choice at the moment. Like the rest of us, Lopez is stuck at home and he isn’t pretending it’s all daisies and fairies from here on out.

“It’s a very hard situation indeed,” he said. “On one side, the world completely stopped and everyone had to change their way of working. In my case, as the audiovisual industry canceled all the shoots, that meant a huge negative impact financially,” he said.

The actor has been in Disney’s “Soy Luna,” telenovela “Amor en Custodia” and more—but the incestuous role of Valerio is undoubtedly what catapulted him to stardom.

He copes by staying faithful to Bikram yoga, he shared, nudging our imaginations off-edge. It keeps him calm and helps him embrace the idea of not having everything under control.

“I have personally learned to slow down, to relax, and not [become] frustrated from not having every aspect of my life under control,” he explained. “I was actually living frenetically,” he admits.

Relaxation is the key, but he knows what’s real and has a million thoughts scurrying around his head, too.

“At this point, the uncertainty of ‘coming back to the normality’” is what stresses him out most, he told VMan. “Nobody knows how things will be managed from here on.”
