When she’s not delighting us with her playful jabs at husband John Legend or her takedown of her haters, Chrissy Teigen is keeping it very real about food. That’s why it’s not totally surprising that she skipped one of Hollywood’s most glamorous nights so she could indulge in Mariscos Jalisco. In a tweet, Chrissy revealed that she felt the need to track down a taco truck featured on Ugly Delicious.

As a follow-up tweet showed, Teigen’s dreams came true, but according to LA Taco, it didn’t come about easily.

Initially, someone from the Teigen-Legend camp called owner Raul Ortega’s daughter. She delivered messages between each party, including the fact that Ortega couldn’t cater for them on such short notice. But the contact insisted and even said they’d pay the minimum $1,000 Ortega charges for events. Raul usually doesn’t cater for less than 80 people. Teigen and Legend only needed to feed 10 people. “First of all, I didn’t know who this person even was but I saw my daughters trying hard to convince me to go,” he told LA Taco. “When they said they could pay me, I thought: Well, I don’t have to prepare a lot for that amount of people? We decided to go. They were waiting for us to get there and were very happy and excited to see us. Everybody came out when the truck arrived. We parked in their private garage and waited for them to ask us for their food.”

Obviously, Chrissy was impressed. She later posted on Twitter that she “could cry.” Mariscos Jalisco, which consistently lands on best taco lists, has served up fried shrimp tacos on East Olympic Boulevard for nearly two decades. In March, it will open its first brick and mortar in Pomona, an area where Ortega says Latinos “like to eat good seafood.”
