Singer Christian Nodal and his fiancée, singer and songwriter Belinda, are calling it quits. Nodal announced their breakup on social media Saturday (February 12).
“To all of my fans and press friends, I want to share that we’ve decided to end our engagement and our relationship, taking the best of the other,” Nodal wrote. “We’re very grateful to you to have accompanied us during this time. I ask for respect over the decision we have made, where each of us will live their process of separation in their own way, always wishing the other the best due to the happy and trying moments we experienced together. I respectfully inform the press that I won’t be engaging with this topic further. Sending you lots of love. Nodal.”
Nodal and Belinda had been dating for a few months before they got engaged in May 2021. They announced their engagement on social media, and Nodal gave Belinda an engagement ring that was estimated to be $3 million. “Ladies and gentlemen … Belinda Peregrin Schull just made me the luckiest man in the world,” he wrote at the time.
In February, it was reported that Nodal and Belinda stopped following each other on Instagram. Nodal also deleted the photos of Belinda from his account. Around the same time, Nodal sent a cryptic tweet that read, “We don’t even see each other, and I’m still hung up on you.”
During an episode of El Gordo y La Flaca, Nodal went as far as talking about one day having children with Belinda. “I want to have my children at the age of 24,” Nodal said. “I have always dreamed … that at age 24, I already want to have a little girl.”
Now, we guess the only question left is where these two go next and how it will inspire their music.
