There was a lot of star power and diva energy onstage for the celebration of World AIDS Day inside The Forum in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening (December 1). That’s when entertainers like Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Hudson got together to unite in the fight against HIV and AIDS and to remember those who have succumbed to it in the last 40 years.

The event, World AIDS Day – The L.A. Revival, was presented by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) and featured singers and dancers. Aguilera and Hudson were the headlining acts of the evening. Aguilera sang a handful of songs, including fan favorites like “Ain’t No Other Man,” “Lady Marmalade” and “Beautiful” and her 2021 songs “Somos Nada” and  “Pa Mis Muchachas.”

Later, she posted photos of herself and Hudson that evening and included a special note to the singer and Oscar winner. “Such a highlight when I get to see and spend a moment with Jennifer,” Aguilera wrote on social media. “I’ve met many special people in this business over the years, but it’s always extra magical when I get to see her!! The voice & spirit of an ANGEL.”

Before her performance of “The Voice Within,” Aguilera spoke to the audience about the importance of the event. “Today is such a special day,” she said. “I’m so honored to be here for World AIDS Day with all of you. I am so inspired by all the amazing work that the AIDS Healthcare Foundation is doing. Incredible, massive, so important. We are fighters and we’re in this all together.”

Supporters in attendance later tweeted about their incredible experience listening to Aguilera’s empowering songs.

Others used the photos Christina Aguilera posted to talk about how much they wanted to see the duo work together in the future.
