From peel-off and cleansing to bubbling and sheet masks, the trend is actually an industry-wide phenomenon that highlights the miraculous benefits of these products. One of the reigning queens of masks is Colombian skincare expert and entrepreneur Tata Harper, whose clarifying mask just became one of Allure‘s 2018 Best of Beauty winners.
Harper’s Clarifying Mask is a completely natural, organic treatment that targets skin imperfections in 15 to 20 minutes, specifically blemishes, redness, and dull complexions. While it retails for $68, the 1-ounce jar is considered an overnight miracle worker worth the investment. “If I apply this mask the night before an important day, my skin is totally flawless the next morning,” wrote Popsugar. “It’s a total godsend.”
The Colombian entrepreneur has become a total sensation inside the beauty world. Born in Barranquilla, Harper now lives in Vermont. She created her namesake skincare line after her grandfather learned he had skin cancer in 2005. When her grandfather’s doctors urged him to take note of the toxins in the products he used, Harper came to realize the amount of harmful chemicals packed into beauty products. “As these doctors talked about synthetic chemicals in things like deodorant and cleaning supplies, I began to realize what an impact they have on our health,” Harper told Forbes. She then spent years amassing a team of eight scientists in more than five years that helped her develop natural formulas, which Forbes describes as “effective as La Mer mixed with Botox.”
Harper’s array of hype-worthy products includes the Purifying Mask, which functions as a detoxing treatment, and the Regenerating Cleanser, which gives the signature Harper glow. While her Clarifying Mask is now listed as one of the top natural and organic beauty products in Allure‘s 2018 Best of Beauty, Harper’s products are not newbies to such lists. In 2016, her Regenerating Cleanser was also a Best of Beauty winner, while the Resurfacing Mask was also featured on the list in 2017.
