Fitness apparel brand CALIA has welcomed Dascha Polanco (Orange is the New Black) to its team. The 39-year-old actress is now one of its new brand ambassadors.

“Being around these amazing women from different aspects of life and representing experience and being able to relate to, I think it’s important for the customer, the consumer, and just being part of a collective where you find yourself empowered,” Polanco said in a statement. “To watch away every day and meaningful to have that option of transit transitioning and flexibility, I think, is very important. Plus, color and vibe, and style is always a plus.

Polanco was brought into the company along with golf and travel correspondent and model Alexandra O’Laughlin, DJ and social media influencer Hannah Bronfman and former gymnast Shawn Johnson East and a time when the company is introducing new products with its first maternity line and its first collection of golf apparel.

During a virtual presentation, CALIA representatives said that Polanco and the other new ambassadors “embody everything that makes CALIA so special.” They added that the women are “passionate, driven, dynamic, talented, and as the leaders of the Collective community, they are here to inspire all.”

When it comes to her own fitness, Polanco said that everyone’s personal journey is different and that they should know that there isn’t just one way to reach certain goals. “Push through it and understand that there’s no formula,” she said. “I think you have to design it to make you feel most powerful, most free. As far as activity, you need to know your day. I wake up, and it depends on my mood.”
