Lucha Libre is a part of the American cultural fabric. We see the trademark masks at sporting events, concerts, protests, and many other public gatherings. And now they’re at the World Series, documented beautifully by author (and apparently talented sketcher) Dave Eggers who was invited by The Bay Citizen to document Game 1 of the World Series. Eggers, founder of McSweeney’s literary journal and the amazing educational non-profit 826 Valencia, managed to capture some of the Latino contingent in the crowd, including a rather touching snapshot of a fan named Carlos Vasquez.
