The cannabis industry is booming as more and more states legalize it for medical and recreational use. And as the industry grows, businesses and celebrities are starting to get into the game. The latest high-profile name diving into this growing market is David ā€œBig Papiā€ Ortiz.

On Wednesday (July 27), cannabis retailer Rev brands announced a collaboration with the Baseball Hall of Fame inductee called Papi Cannabis. According to CBS Boston, the first product to be available will be ā€œSweet Slugger,ā€ which will include some of Big Papiā€™s favorite strains, including “Black Mamba #7,” “Lava Cake #7,” “Motorbreath #15,” and “Bootylicious #4.”

“Once I embraced the flow of the flower everything changed,” Ortiz said in a statement. “Cannabis has helped me relax, sleep better, manage stress, and heal physically after a lifetime of playing ball, and I look forward to sharing Papi Cannabis and my personal journey to help people understand its benefits.”

Recreational dispensaries around Massachusetts will be carrying the new Rev Brands x Big Papi collab. ā€œSweet Sluggerā€ is the start of the line, with more products promised to be available in stores later this summer.

Papicann.com has a nifty little map available for David Ortiz fans to track down the dispensaries currently carrying ā€œSweet Slugger.ā€ Basically, it looks like Big Papi is still riding high from his recent Hall of Fame induction, and it wonā€™t end anytime soon. Question is, how long until he joins self-proclaimed stoner and icon Cheech Marin for a collab of their own? Maybe they can share some Muncheechos too!
