Demi Lovato is taking the spirit of the new year to heart and has already completed treatment in their continuing fight against addiction. They also got a new tattoo.
The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer has been public with their ongoing battle with addiction. Their 2018 near-fatal overdose prompted the singer to publicly seek professional help. Their road to recovery is ever-evolving, including the moment when they claimed to be California sober, which meant smoking pot and drinking in moderation.
Lovato no longer adheres to this way of sobriety. In an Instagram Story posted in December 2021, the singer told fans that “sober sober is the only way.”
According to E! News, a close friend of Lovato told the outlet that they are home and ready to be back at work after completing their treatment. They deleted their Instagram and posted a photo highlighting their new haircut showing a fresh start.
Lovato showcased the new haircut with a tattoo on Instagram after completing their treatment. In an Instagram Story, Lovato showed a new spider tattoo on the side of their head.
They also quoted a passage from Grandmother Spider Brings the Light, which reads “It was Grandmother Spider who taught us many things. She taught us about pottery and weaving. She taught us about fire and light and dark. She taught us that we are all connected on the web — each one of us having our place in this world.”
