After a two-year relationship, E! News is reporting that Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker and model and media personality Kendall Jenner have broken up.

According to a source, the couple “hit a rough patch recently and have been split for about a week and a half. They both hope to make it work, but as of now, they are split.”

The rough patch occurred after Booker and Jenner returned from Italy after celebrating Jenner’s sister Kourtney Kardashian’s wedding to musician Travis Barker in May. The source revealed that although the couple had a “really nice time” at the wedding, once they returned home, “they started to feel like they weren’t aligned and realized they have very different lifestyles.”

According to the source, it was Jenner who told Booker that she “wanted space and time apart.” The source adds: “They have been in touch since and do care about one another.”

Rumors of a romance between Jenner and Booker started in April 2020, but the couple didn’t confirm their relationship until that summer. They became “Instagram official” in early 2021 when Jenner posted a photo of them together for Valentine’s Day. In the past, Booker has called Jenner the “most beautiful woman.” Jenner has supported Booker over the last two years by attending many of his basketball games.

Booker, whose mother is Mexican-American, was selected as the 13th overall pick by the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Draft and is a well-known shooting guard. Last year he led the Suns to the second-best record (51-21) in the Western Conference with a team-high 25.6 points per game average.

Off the court, the star athlete has spoken proudly about his Latinidad and its impact. In a video for Hispanic Heritage Month last year, Devin Booker explained what it was like as more and more NBA fans found out that he was Latino. “I get on social media, and you start seeing younger kids of Hispanic descent that are reaching out to me and saying, ‘You’re my favorite player. If you’re Mexican and you make the NBA, I can,’” Booker says in the video. “That’s really important inspiration coming from the other side that I’ve been on of looking up to people and knowing I can get there because of that.”
