Don Julio, the famous tequila brand produced in Atotonilco El Alto, Jalisco, Mexico, is offering $100,000 in grants to five Latine entrepreneurs in honor of Our Heritage Month.

Applications are currently being accepted by The Tequila Don Julio Fund, which hopes to connect with the next generation’s top business leaders. The company is looking to fund small business owners who bring the same dedication and passion for their craft as its late founder Don Julio González.

“Don Julio started with a loan of 20,000 pesos,” the company’s Instagram account posted. “Now, you can get $20,000 for your business. We’re offering five Hispanic entrepreneurs the opportunity to continue building their legacy through funding, business promotion, and ongoing support.”

Don Julio is teaming up with Rhuigi Villaseñor, founder and creative director of clothing brand Rhude, and the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA). Each of the five grantees will be awarded a $20,000 grant for their future business objectives, a weekend getaway to Los Angeles, nationwide branding opportunities, and a five-year membership to ALPFA to take advantage of their business resources and mentorship program.

“Tequila Don Julio was founded due to unparalleled devotion and commitment, traits found in many entrepreneurs,” Hadley Schafer, brand director of Tequila Don Julio, said in a press release. “We’re excited to carry on Don Julio González’s legacy and spirit by offering devoted entrepreneurs the same opportunity that was given to our founder nearly 80 years ago. We hope to empower this next generation of Dons and Doñas to continue their devotion to their own craft to achieve their goals.”

Entrepreneurs can apply for the grant at www.DonsAndDonas.com. The deadline is October 15, 2021.
