Dylan Gonzalez, a former basketball player for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, has accused singer Trey Songz of rape. Gonzalez made the accusation with a statement posted to her social media accounts after calling Trey Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Neverson, a rapist in a New Year’s Eve post.
Gonzalez is working with attorneys George Vrabeck and Ariel Mitchell to pursue her legal options. The attorneys told PEOPLE that they are working on litigation that will be filed in the coming weeks.
According to Gonzalez’s post, she alleges that Neverson raped her while in Las Vegas. She was prompted to make her statement after seeing the recent allegations brought against the musician by other women.
“With what seems like endlessly reoccurring news of the alleged sexual assaults committed by Trey Songz, I am forced to repeatedly relive in my mind, and suffer anew, the long-suppressed horror and unbearable PTSD of my rape by his very hands at a well known Las Vegas hotel,” Gonzalez wrote in her statement.
Representatives for Neverson are confident in his innocence.
“Trey and his team are confident in the legal process and that there will be an abundance of exonerating information to come over the next few weeks,” his representatives told TMZ.
Vrabeck and Mitchell are also representing Jahaura Jeffries, another woman who claims she was sexually assaulted by Neverson.
Las Vegas police also confirmed a report of an alleged sexual assault in Nov. 2021 by an unnamed person. The unnamed person named Neverson as the assailant.
This is a developing story.
