Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa Challenged a Congressman to Throw Hands

Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa is known to be v. sensitive about criticism directed his way. So when opposition Congressman Andrés Páez blasted him for the seven faulty helicopters Correa purchased from India in 2009, he handled it in the way that he thought was most fit for the president of a country: he challenged Paez to take it outside. Rafa from the Block said this is how they handle it where he’s from, and initially, Páez didn’t back down from the ludicrous proposition, according to Fusion.

Tbh, I would love to see this go down, because Correa has just enough crazy in him to make it a good fight. Nonetheless, he told kids not to follow in his footsteps. “I don’t want to give a bad example to the kids,” Correa said on his television show. “But if [Páez] has a problem with me, he has to stop hiding behind his congressional seat, he knows where to find me, or he can tell me where to find him and we will fix this one on one, once and for all.”

Alas, the fight is not going to happen. Here, Correa explains it in his own words via Twitter:

Dreams shattered.
