In 2024, Remezcla launched Remezcla Pride: The Identity Edition. That package focused on the complexities of our identities; from gender identity to sexual orientation. We followed that up in 2025 with Remezcla Pride: No Barriers, Just Pride. That package focused on celebrating transgender resilience, non-binary joy, and living a life outside the binary. And in 2026 we’re back with Remezcla Pride: Building Communities.

In 2026 we’re exploring how community changes those within the LGBTQ+ community. Not just in the joyful, visible ways that come with chosen family or finally being seen. We’re also talking about the radical yet quiet ways where community is a home for our whole selves or a place where we learn who we are in the first place.

This package will celebrate how building LGTBQ+ community transforms us, grounds us, and saves us through editorials, interviews, and op-eds. But at the same time it’s important to hold space for how community has failed us or excluded us. We want stories about belonging and accountability.

What makes this Pride package different from all the other ones out there?

Remezcla Pride 2026: Building Communities is about the Latine community, for the Latine community, and by the Latine community.

Is this just for Pride?

Building Communities is specifically for Pride 2026. But that doesn’t mean that coverage of LGBTQ+ issues will stop once the month ends. Despite the efforts of many against our communities, the LGBTQ+ community continues to thrive 365 days a year and should be honored as such.

Can I send in recommendations for coverage?

Absolutely! As we roll out posts for this package, we’re looking for more opportunities to cover Latine LGBTQ+ talent, creatives, and announcements. Please contact the Trending Editor Lyra Hale here.
