For hours, Edward James Olmos and George Lopez listened to the survivors of the El Paso shooting. On Thursday, the actors headed to the University Medical Center in El Paso and spent time talking to both those hurt when a gunman opened fire at a Wal-Mart and with the families of those who lost someone in the tragic shooting.

Hospital staff and trainees also got some face time with the actors. “It was a real emotional experience all around,” said Ryan Mielke, the center’s spokesman. “They just wanted to meet with patient and staff.”

El Paso Times reports that the visit wasn’t covered by the media in real time because it wasn’t publicized. However, images popped up on social media showing the two at the medical center.
