On Jan. 25, Randy Gonzalez, the father of the father-and-son Enkyboys TikTok duo, reportedly passed away at 35. TMZ reports that lost his ongoing fight against colon cancer. After being open about having cancer last April, Randy died this morning in a hospice, per the source.

For those unfamiliar with the duo, Randy and his son Brice frequently made videos that put smiles on their viewers’ faces. The social media partners became so popular that they garnered over 15.5 million followers on TikTok and 1.4 million followers on Instagram throughout Randy’s cut-short career.

Their social media virality transcended to television screens when Brice Gonzalez was cast on George Lopez’s Lopez vs. Lopez, which premiered last Nov. This opportunity had been brewing since 2021 when the beloved duo became a viral sensation due to their hilarious skits online. The videos gained so much attention that even the comedian Steve Harvey had them on his Facebook Watch show Steve on Watch.

Unfortunately, Randy’s last Instagram post was an announcement about Brice’s appearance on the Lopez vs. Lopez show that aired on Dec. 16. That same month, he posted what would be his last TikTok update about how chemotherapy was going for him. He updated, saying he was back in Texas and had to change his chemo. He said: “Enkyboy is still here. We have not posted because I’m sick all the time. But we love y’all, we miss y’all, and we will be back. Stay strong.”

Besides fighting colon cancer – and still uploading light-hearted TikToks with his son – Randy also used the Enkyboys’ social media channels to bring colon cancer awareness. Fans across social media platforms are mourning the news and sharing their favorite videos of the two.

Though one-half of the duo is now gone, we hope to continue seeing Brice’s acting talents flourish from what was once a father-and-son partnership. May Randy rest in peace.
