The first day at a new job is always challenging and awkward. I walked in this morning to my new job hoping to impress and establish myself in a room full of new co-workers and future colleagues. Instead I experienced a total loss of dignity and immediately showed my true colors when I lost my phone after lunch and proceeded to destroy the front of my car after hitting a median in the parking lot just in front of my new officemate who happened to be locking up his bike right when I moved my car. Back inside the office my new boss made a huge deal about my missing phone and proceeded to ask everyone in the office to contribute to the search and help me find my piece of crap phone. Luckily everyone was very nice and one of them even insisted I take her phone home so that I could stay in contact with the woman who picked up on the other end after 30 missed calls and told me she found it parking lot…
Yup, I was that girl today. I’m sure my new coworkers think I’m a mess and need help with my life. I do need help but they weren’t supposed to find that out on my first day. Terrible first day anything stories would make me feel a little better right about now so feel free to share…
