Flor de Maria Rivera had a dream, and her dream involved fashion. That’s why Rivera, who immigrated to the U.S. with her parents at 14 and went on to graduate from college and work as a sports anchor for Telemundo and Univision, never settled for a job she liked but didn’t love. And today, her high-end shoe collection is selling out and celebrities are paying attention.

Rivera, who started with her own bilingual fashion blog, always struggled to find the perfect shoe – especially one that created a space for Latine fashion. Figuring she wasn’t the only one, she decided to make her own shoe line, focusing on quality, style, and versatility. If her recent transition to red-carpet staple tells us anything, it’s that she was right and that even celebrities are on the lookout for that perfect shoe.

The Flor de Maria collection has grown to over ten unique designs that typically sell out within the first week of launch and have been worn by a host of celebrities, from Thalia to Carrie Underwood, Bebe Rexha, and recently Kylie Jenner

“I’m so proud of how far the brand has come. From using my own money with no outside investors and having no real Latin idol to look up to in the fashion industry, I’m very proud to be creating a space for the Latinx representation in fashion”, Rivera said.

Above all things, Rivera wants women to feel empowered when they put on her shoes. Because, sometimes, the right shoe can change your whole attitude.
