It’s not just Enrique Peña Nieto who inspires intense reactions from crowds. While at the Mexican Gran Premio race for Formula 1 over the weekend, former President Felipe Calderón Hinojosa was called a murderer by other people in the crowd. Footage shows people yelling “lárgate asesino” as he pretends that everything around him is normal. In the past, Calderón has been called the “president of the dead,” with an approximated 65,000 killed during his six years in office as a result of his war on drugs.
Meanwhile, his wife, Margarita Zavala is busy on an early campaign trail. Though elections do not take place until 2018, she has already established her plans to run. The two arrived at the event separately, with Margarita arriving by metro, and her husband rumored to have arrived in a helicopter, though we haven’t been able to confirm this.
