Since the news that Francia Raísa donated her kidney to Selena Gomez in 2017 was announced, rumor mills have run amok, ruthlessly speculating that the two celebrities had a major falling out.

In the latest Good Guys episode hosted by Josh Peck and Ben Soffer, Raísa puts an end to the rumors and addresses how the people on the internet can sometimes be “mean” and “pick at your insecurities.”

“There’s no beef.” Says Raísa, in response to the question regarding her name appearing in tabloids.

When Soffer follows up and mentions that the act of donating a kidney is a “heroic” feat and one that should be “celebrated,” Raísa responds by saying, “I get those comments a lot, and I never know how to respond to it. Saying thank you doesn’t feel right.”

She later added, “ I knew I was a match, I knew it was going to happen. No one forced me to do anything. It came out of the genuine kindness of my heart and I have been super blessed ever since.”

Following Raísa’s organ donation to Selena Gomez, the latter publicly addressed the procedure. The kidney transplant was a necessary procedure in response to Gomez’ Lupus diagnosis. In an Instagram post, Gomez said, “There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis.”

Francia and Gomez have since been at the center of rumor mills for the two’s supposed on and off again friendship following the medical procedure.

It started with an interview with Rolling Stone last year where Gomez said that Taylor Swift was her “only friend in the industry.” Raísa reportedly responded on Twitter “interesting.” That fueled the rumors and discourse online. Gomez then responded in a Tik Tok video with Raísa, saying, “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know.”

And even though have been small speculations and rumors since then, and especially after people noticed that Raísa didn’t reportedly follow Gomez on Instagram, less than a week ago, Gomez posted a birthday tribute to Raísa on Instagram.

With a slideshow of photos, Gomez said, “Happiest of birthdays to this special human being. No matter where life takes us, I love you. ❤️ @franciaRaísa.”

That led to Francia Raísa popping up all over entertainment sites and on socials as it seemed like the friendship had been mended. And with her saying that there had never been beef with paparazzi on the street combined with this message and her following Selena Gomez again, it seems like the drama is officially over.
