Honduran-Mexican-American actress Francia Raísa is a hero. Though she was content to quietly donate an organ to friend Selena Gomez, the internet has learned of her altruism today. In an Instagram post, Gomez revealed she underwent a life-saving kidney transplant because of her Lupus.

“I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering,” Gomez wrote. “It was what I needed to do for my overall health. I honestly look forward to sharing with you soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you. Until then, I want to publicly thank my family and incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery. And finally, there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raísa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis.”

The post has naturally brought Francia – who has sisters named Italia and Irlandia, btw –a lot of attention. Gomez’s fans have flooded her Instagram page with comments. The 29-year-old actress – who appeared on The Secret Life of the American Teenager and the Hayden Panetierre- and Solange-fronted Bring It On: All Or Nothing – is currently on Netflix’s Dear White People.

Here’s what people had to say about Francia’s next-level friendship:
