The whirling thickness of Despotismo Ilustrado’s latest track, “Los espectros de Kronstadt,” aptly reflects the Madrid trio’s still-in-the-works oeuvre. Their particular brand of kraut/industrial-influenced songs carry a heaviness with them that outweighs that of other compatriot post-punk bands like Triángulo de Amor Bizarro, El Columpio Asesino, and Franc3s. All this without even a proper album.
