This DJ from Monterrey by way of LA has just released a new mixtape titled Mexican Dubwiser Presents Vol 1.SONIDOS DE HOY Y SIEMPRE, and it’s a very fresh approach, refurbishing modern-day classics with the melancholic hook of yesterday’s tracks.
This electric pastiche of cumbia mixes a real ‘movido’ yet dark collection of unexpected tunes. From Calle 13 and contemporaries to old-school classics like the 70’s Chilean bolero group Los Ángeles Negros.
Check out the haunting track “Adoro Una Vez (Mexican Dubwiser Mashup)” by Selena VS Bronco. You’ll do a double take as the voice of slain Tejano music queen emerges from Bronco’s lead crooner’s echoes. To get your cumbia fix straight away listen to “Fosforito” by DJ Vadim meets Mendoza.
