One of our favorite singer-songwriters, la argentina Juana Molina, is playing Prospect Park Bandshell today. Currently on tour with Feist, Juana will most likely be playing songs from her upcoming album Un Día (set for release in October). Juana hadn’t released a record since Son in 2006, and now we hear her new stuff gets a little adventurous.
According to the press release the difference is in the "pronounced rhythms and bold low end." She says, "I noticed the rhythm in the music on previous records was tacit. There, but concealed. Some people didn’t feel there was any kind of rhythm at all! On this album I decided to make what was pretty obvious for me, more obvious to others, to bring it to the front. All that was insinuated in the past is now more tangible, hearable."
We’re not part of the bunch that finds her previous work rhythm-less, we really love her mellow tunes, BUT, we can’t wait to hear que mas ofrece Juana.
