Running a presidential campaign is no easy feat, and it becomes increasingly more difficult as it goes along. To qualify for the primary debate in Houston this fall, the candidates needed to receive donations from 130,000 donors and come in at least 2% in four polls. On Tuesday morning, Julián Castro officially met the polling requirement, making him eligible for the third debate.
Castro reached the 130,000-donor mark in July, and today, through a CNN poll, where he polled in at 2%, he fulfilled the prerequisite, according to CNN. He is the 10th Democrat to have qualified. He will join Beto O’Rourke, Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Cory Booker, Pete Buttigieg, Andrew Yang, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar and Elizabeth Warren.
Castro has retweeted the news onto his Twitter timeline several times, taking a second to thank all those who have backed him.
