Kid Cudi is being called to testify in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial this week, according to Complex reporter Shawn Setaro. Cudi briefly dated Cassie in 2011, with Casandra “Cassie” Ventura testifying that she broke off the relationship because she felt it was too dangerous to continue it.
The rapper is being tried on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. Ten witnesses have already testified so far. And now Cudi, whose real name is Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, is being called to testify, in part, due to Cassie’s testimony.
Last week, she revealed that Combs was “irate” to learn that she was dating the rapper and threatened to “hurt” her and Cudi. According to Cassie, the specific threats involved blowing up Cudi’s car and wanting his friends to see the explosion. Ventura also testified that Combs threatened to release sexually explicit videos of her.
In 2021, a Porsche belonging to Cudi caught fire due to an “incendiary device,” according to police reports. Cudi himself has confirmed reports that his car exploded.

Now, the prosecution hopes Cudi can confirm this account of events. The rapper is expected to testify on Thursday morning (May 22). Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges. If convicted of all counts, he could face up to life in prison.
