La La Anthony got real about her divorce from basketball star Carmelo Anthony in a recent interview on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast. The divorce, according to her, was a long time coming. And now, she has been able to identify the moment when things started to go downhill for the couple.

In 2010, La La Anthony and Carmelo got married. A year later, her new husband was transferred from the Denver Nuggets to the New York Knicks. That’s when life started putting a strain on their marriage.

“When we lived here under all of that, that’s when things became complicated,” the New York native told podcast host Alex Cooper about the move and the changes that came with living under the spotlight. “I think that was kind of the start. Now that I look back, that was kind of the start of the demise of the marriage.”

Just recently, she also went on The Breakfast Club, a radio show in New York City on 105.1 FM, and continued to speak on her experience in marriage. And she also made her thoughts about getting married again very clear.

“I’m never getting married again,” she told Charlamagne tha God. “It was one of those things in life that I can check it off like I did that.”

“I can have an incredible relationship with somebody and not be married. I feel like marriage, at times…becomes very much like business,” La La Anthony added. “What I found with marriage is it’s easy to get into and harder to get out of when you’re dealing with lawyers and this and that. It’s just really complicated.”
