For the first time in its 9th year history, the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, which will be held in Manchester, Tennessee from June 10 to 13, will host a tent just dedicated to Latin music. The tent, called Latino Alternativo. Curators Tomas Cookman and Amy Blackman-Romero from Cookman International/Nacional Records have created a dedicated space for the Latino audience, with performances by some of their best-known acts: Ozomatli, Los Amigos Invisibles, The Nortec Collective presents: Bostich + Fussible, Aterciopelados, Bomba Estéreo and the Mexican Institute of Sound. They’ll be joined by top DJs remixing the best from the Latin music repertory.
But that’s not all: Visual arts will be on display for the artistic gente, and Latin food will be available for the ultimate festival experience — while diets consisting solely of hamburgers are great, there’s nothing like some tacos to wash down the booze. So as the summer gets closer think about planning a trip to Tennessee. Or at least get to know these artists:
