Red Bull Music Academy has revealed their lineup for the festival that takes over NYC each May.

These events are nothing to sneeze at. They range from urban to academic, from dance parties to deep listening sessions, and from discussion to the most visceral experiences through sound. Activities include a two-night only show with sensation FKA Twigs; conversations with avant garde composer La Monte Young, godfather of freak funk George Clinton and current hip-hop guiding light A$AP Rocky; an all-star tribute to cult musician Arthur Russell; a roundtable concerning the role of radio in Eighties NY; a throwback rave; and a noise event that will unite generations of artists across continents.

For fans of Latin music, there’s plenty to get excited about here; it just takes a casual glance at the bill to accurately see their big role in this festival. Here we bring you a breakdown of the most Remezcla-approved events:

May 1: Electronic Africa
Transglobal sounds from the most ancient continent. Expect many fusions between native styles and more international rhythms. The show will also feature Titica, a transgender singer and dancer from Angola that has become the country’s biggest kuduro representative.

 May 2: GHE2OGOTH1K
Venus X has resurrected her legendary party series for this festival with a very special lineup, in partnership with Hood By Air’s $hayne, DIS Magazine, and Fade To Mind. As you can infer, expect the freshest beats, top of the line design and fashion displays, as well as art and technology. Venus herself will play one of her trademark sets. Who knows? Maybe Rihanna will turn up here.

May 3: Kid Millions presents 100 Disciplines
The drummer and composer will present the very first commissioned work by RBMA, and to open the event, Millions has selected the Italian drumming duo Niños du Brasil who take batucada and samba and inject it with healthy doses of punk and techno.

May 9: Que Bajo?! Barrioteca Tropical
Que Bajo?! co-founders Uproot Andy and Geko Jones have brought a who’s who in LATAM club music to set the night ablaze. Among the artists to be featured are 3BallMTY’s Erick Rincón, PR reggaeton pioneer DJ Playero, Miami Latin bass exponent DJ Laz, and ñerocore DJ Pablitomix, among many others.

May 10: Yardcore. Brooklyn Bashment
A daytime party to celebrate the influence of Jamaica and Caribbean music in NY through the years. Appearing here are local dub legend King Jammy, Jamaicans Assassin, Lisa Hyper, and Tifa, plus many more.
