Lourdes “Lola” Leon is following in her mom’s famous footsteps. Leon, daughter of the global pop icon Madonna and Cuban actor Carlos Leon, has just been tapped to be the face of the legendary brand Marc Jacobs.

The brand has been home to mom, Madonna, since 2008 when Jacobs, in an interview, declared the singer “the ultimate performer.” Jacobs was then the creative director for Louis Vitton and starred in two campaigns for the brand, plus was dressed in the brand for her 2016 Harper’s Bazaar cover.

The 24-year-old has been pretty private, only establishing an Instagram presence in January. The label made the announcement that Leon will head the Spring 2021 campaign, with released photos were she was outfitted in a “maximalist’s dream — kitted out in clashing florals, knee-high multi-colored socks and an acerbic lime green tote bag.”

The brand has been leaning heavily towards marketing to a younger market. Heaven, the label’s brand for teens, recruited popular influencers among teens Eileen Kelly, Lilah Summer and rising Japanese YouTuber Kemio this past September to promote the launch.

Leon is not new to the fashion world, and has made her own way outside of her mom’s influence. She made her debut in a collection video for Miu Miu’s spring range in 2019 and has appeared in a number of high-end streetwear collaborations, including Jean-Paul Gaultier x Supreme and Parade x Juicy Couture. This January, Leon co-directed and starred in a campaign video for a Stella McCartney x Adidas capsule collection.
