Singer and songwriter Maluma is the new face of Versace. The men’s advertising campaign includes the 27-year-old musician modeling pieces from the Italian luxury fashion company’s 2022 Spring-Summer collection.
Some of the clothing Maluma shows off is a hot-pink suit, a green vest, and a maroon and white varsity jacket that is embroidered with the name Donatella for Italian fashion designer Donatella Versace. In one of the photos, Maluma poses with his Doberman Pinscher named Buda, who is wearing a fancy, patterned neckerchief.
“Maluma has long been a part of my Versace family, and I’m so excited for him to star in his first campaign with Versace,” Donatella Versace said in a statement. “I loved the way he played with the camera and the fact that he was as much at ease in front of the camera as he is in front of a stadium full of people singing his songs!”
Maluma said it was “a dream come true” to be chosen as the face of such an iconic fashion house as Versace and hopes he can continue representing his home country of Colombia through his love for music and fashion.
“Together, we have created memorable moments with custom performance and red carpet looks, magazine covers, and the amazing Met Gala 2021 design,” Maluma said. “With this campaign, we are creating more memories as a fashion family together. One of my greatest highlights for 2022 will be my dog Buda in his first campaign with me – a man’s best friend joins fashion. This is to have many more memories with my Versace family.”
