Mariah Carey, the queen of Christmas, takes her title and her love for the holiday season very seriously. So seriously that not only has she built an empire around the holiday season, it also plays into her dating life. Like, honestly, how can you expect to even be near Carey’s presence if you aren’t a Christmas fan? It just comes with the territory.
In a recent interview with E! News’s Daily Pop, Carey opened up to host Justin Sylvester about the importance of finding a partner that shared her same interests, including her love of the holidays. Of course, this wasn’t said into a vacuum. The global singing superstar had a vague yet still very pointed example of how serious she takes holidays into account when dating someone.
“There was a person in my life at one time — we won’t say names — and they didn’t love holidays,” Carey said during the interview. “And I was like, ‘Well you’re with the wrong person then, honey.’ You have to love Christmas.”

“It’s such an exciting Christmas event,” Carey said about the special. “We had the best time working together. It’s fun, it’s festive, we’re all just feeling the vibe of the spirit of Christmas. I really can’t wait to share it with everybody.”
