Attention Comic Geeks: Marvelous Color

OK, geeks and comic book enthusiasts: This Daily Remix is for you!

Remember when you were young, or last week, or whenever, you were reading a comic book and you said to yourself, “Damn, I wish someone would make an exhibition about my favorite comic book hero!”

Well, look no more! Somos Arte and the cultural organization Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute presents Marvelous Color! A well-needed celebration and exploration of your favorite six multicultural comic book heroes: Storm, Luke Cage, Blade, The Falcon, Black Panther, and James Rhodes.

This exhibition will also premier new and unpublished works from extraordinary comic book artists such as Dennis Calero (X Men Noir), Shawn Martinbrough (Luke Cage Noir) , Ken Lashley (Black Panther), and Argentina based Leonardo Marco (War Machine)

Also! (Yes, there is more!) Marvelous Color will include original pieces from previously published work by Marvel Editor-In-Chief Joe Quesada (Amazing Spider-Man), Billy Tan (Black Panther), John Cassaday (Captain America), and soooo much more!

But the heroics aren’t just left for the heroes on paper. From December 18 (opening night) until December 20 the gallery will be hosting a toy drive along with the show.  They encourage you to bring as many new and unwrapped toys and books for those who need it. You too can become a hero to someone else in need!
