Mexican icon Juan Gabriel is continuing to be immortalized. On August 28, Mattel revealed their latest Barbie: a Juanga-inspired model in his honor. The doll is available for pre-order now and is currently priced at $55.00.

“Juanga forever 💛 Barbie honors the legendary Juan Gabriel, whose prolific career changed music and Latin American pop culture forever,” the company announced online. “Dazzling in a look inspired by the icon’s charismatic and colorful mariachi outfits, the doll pays tribute to Juan Gabriel’s inimitable sense of style and love for his native Mexico.”

The new Barbie, designed by Angel Kent, is part of Mattel’s Barbie Signature Music Series. The doll is featured wearing a bolero jacket echoing the singer’s iconic look during his emblematic performance at the El Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City in 1990. As far as details go, the website says that Juanga’s favorite accessory was a bolo tie, which inspired the design of the doll’s necklace. The Barbie is also featured wearing golden drop earrings and peep-toe heels to match with the outfit.

And that’s not all because even the box is giving glamour. This Barbie will have his name written in cursive on the front plastic with an opulent background with mariachis. And the back cover of the box will have information about the Signature Barbie and his career.

Social media users are excited about the new Barbie. A social media user, dollzmillenium, wrote: “Im so in love! Thank you for representation of such a Mexican icon! I’ve already had purchased mine and can’t wait to have her next to my Maria Felix 🇲🇽❤️.”

This isn’t the first company that has paid tribute to the El Divo de Juárez, who is known for his classic songs like “Amor Eterno,” “Querida,” and “Hasta Que Te Conocí.” In June, Funko POP! revealed their own version of the famous composer in a mariachi outfit.

Fans can now pre-order the new Barbie with a limit of one per customer. Shipping will start on or before October 18.
