Mexican student Daniela Villegas is one of only 60 people picked to join NASA’s 2021 International Air and Space Program, a highly competitive workshop at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. For five days, applicants aged 12 to 25 who make the cut learn from and work alongside NASA engineers and, ultimately, send a collective project to the International Space Station.
For someone like Villegas, who studies Mechatronics Engineering at TecNM de Hermosillo in Sonoma, it’s a priceless experience. But it actually costs a lot of money—the total surpasses $3,500—and that’s a bit out of budget for most, Villegas included.
She took to Twitter just days ago for help raising funds using the hashtag #DanielaVillegasNASA.
