Magali Febles has been named the new director of Miss Universe El Salvador. The Dominican beauty pageant queen has been the director of the Miss Dominican Republic national beauty pageant for the Miss Universe franchise since 2003. She has also previously served as the national director for Miss Universe Puerto Rico and Miss Haiti.

“Discipline, passion and leadership are the strongest qualities of our director, who will now be in charge of searching for the new queen who will make us shine before the Universe this 2024,” the Miss Universe organization posted on social media.

Febels, who owns the Miss International and Miss Hispanoamérica franchises for the Dominican Republic, also made a statement on social media about her new role in the pageant circuit and thanked El Salvador President Nayib Bukele and all Salvadorans for their backing.

According to Diario Libre, Bukele hired Febels last year to advise Isabella García-Manzo, who was representing El Salvador in the Miss Universe pageant.

Part of Febles’ new responsibilities will be to prepare the pageant participants who will be representing El Salvador and the Dominican Republic in the next Miss Universe.

On social media, Febels received plenty of congratulations from her famous friends, including García-Manzo who said, “My magician. You are a genius. I love you.” She also received supportive words from others like TV host Mónica Casamiquela and Miss Universe Honduras 2022 Rebeca Rodriguez Mora.
