Murs’ Zapatista Remark: Offensive Much?

So, we’ve been holding out bringing this up until we talk to the source, but seeing how the source is out on a tour to promote his new album, Murs for President, we gotta put this out there.

For all of ya’all who were at the We The People Festival this past weekend, you know the Suicidal Tendencies reunion was kinda awkward, Fishbone was surprisingly just as energetic as before, RZA was overrated, Eek-a-Mouse was the shiznit,  Barrington Levy raised the hair on your arm, and Murs’ rocked the house; until he said something to the effect of:

I know some people are going to get mad at me for saying this, but you all better get out there and vote!!! Eff those Zapatista muthaeffers who say they’re not going to vote for anyone.

We still think Murs is one of the most talented rappers out there, but did he have to use a Zapatista analogy? Does he even know what a Zapatista is? Why didn’t he just say ‘militant’? While we wait for an explanation from the L.A.-reppin’ rapper, we’d like to hear your thoughts on the comment.
