Natalia Bryant, daughter of late NBA superstar Kobe Bryant, is seeking a restraining order against a man she says is allegedly stalking her.
According to TMZ, Bryant filed the order on Monday (November 21) against Dwayne Kemp, a 32-year-old man who is said to have a criminal history with firearms. Bryant has never met Kemp, but according to documents obtained by TMZ, the man tried to contact her two years ago when was 17. Apparently, Kemp believed he and Bryant were in a romantic relationship with one another.
Bryant reported that Kemp has been looking for Bryant and even showed up at her sorority house at the University of Southern California where she is a student. Sources with direct knowledge of the situation also told TMZ that Kemp showed up to one of Bryant’s classes and was caught on surveillance roaming around inside the building.
To make matters worse, documents show that Kemp is in the process of purchasing an AK-47 rifle and a handgun. Apparently, Kemp is a “gun enthusiast” and has been arrested at least four times, once for a crime involving a firearm.
According to TMZ, Bryant is asking the court to grant the restraining order to keep Kemp “at least 200 yards away from her, her home, her job, her school, her sorority house and her car.”
Documents revealed that Kemp once sent Natalia Bryant a message on social media that included a photo of her late father and a message stating that he would like to have “a Kobe-like child together.” The message read, “Thankful for him birthing you, hopefully we can birth him…‘Kobe.’” The DM also included a red heart emoji. A judge has not ruled on the order yet.
