“Un Verano en Nueva York” (A Summer in New York) is artist/designer M. Tony Peralta’s latest “Hecho a Mano” (hand-made) project for Summer 2012. A capsule collection of men and women’s hand-printed t-shirts, tanks and snapback caps, Peralta debuts a series of beautifully hand-drawn typography graphics for this summer season!
A nod to his iconic hometown, Peralta’s “Nueva York” and “Wash. Hts.” tees are expected to be among this summer’s hottest items. Back by popular demand are the “Dept. of Defense” graphic (a woman’s mouth holding a razorblade) and crowd favorite, “Defend Uptown”—a slogan he coined in response to the growing degree of gentrification and constant scrutiny his neighborhood undergoes.
