Fact: for every 500 people writing/talking/thinking about NYC Fashion Week, only .68 have actually attended a show. Okay, I just made that statistic up, but the truth is that very few of us normals ever get to actually see collections unveiled in person, because tickets are usually reserved for the likes of celebrities, stylists, fashion editors and buyers. Lucky for you, Remezcla has the hookup to two of this season’s most exciting emerging Latino designers. Check out the people we’re excited about this fashion week and enter below for a chance to win two tickets to see their Fashion week shows!

Adrian Alicea This Puerto Rican, NY-based designer actually got his start as a model, strutting catwalks for the likes of Thierry Mugler, Valentino, Patricial Fields, Armani, and John Paul Gaultier. After learning the ins and outs of the fashion industry, he launched his own line “Adrian Alicea Haute Couture,” which pays homage to Adrian’s Latino and Taino Indian roots. Adrian’s spring/summer 2013 fashion collection, “Hybrids of the Deep Blue Sea” will be a theatrical show at the landmark event space St. Bart’s church on September 12, 2012 at 9pm.

Raul Peñaranda This Colombo-Venezuelan designer got his start designing for Liz Claiborne, DKNY, Kellwood, Tommy Hilfiger and Oscar de la Renta. After an impressive 11-year career, he branched out with his own self-titled line, which is already making waves in the fashion world. This season, he draws inspiration from the nine ancient muses of creation, using lavish fabrics such as silk chiffon, refined laces, delicate sequins, metallic brocade and metallic-coated tulle along with sheer illusions, hand-beaded technique, and luxurious embroidery appliqué.  The collection will be shown at 512 West 42nd Street on Thursday September 13, 2012 at 7:00 PM.
