Bad Bunny has reached Don status. During the 2026 Met Gala, Don Benito embraced the concept of the aging body, attending as a geriatric version of himself— 50 years his senior to be exact.

Don Benito’s Met Gala look embraces the natural process of aging, including time (and gravity’s) effect on skin, hair, and overall appearance. The full look was created in response to the 2026 Met Gala theme “fashion is art,” which explores fashion as an art form, particularly across several physical forms, including the aging body. Don Benito confronts this inevitable process in his own terms, enlisting world renowned prosthetic makeup professional, Mike Marino.

To create Don Benito’s realistic appearance, every line, wrinkle, liver spot, and detail was carefully hand painted by Marino. The final look was meant to be realistic— not theatrical or exaggerated, and all came together based on a conversation with Bad Bunny. Together, the two agreed on a transformation that was truthful to the reality of time and its effect on the human body.

Marino is the most celebrated prosthetic makeup artist in the world. He has worked closely with celebrities such as Heidi Klum and the Weeknd, transforming them into uncanny characters and majestic creatures.

Don Benito completed the mature look with a custom, all-black tux by Zara, which he designed himself. The suit includes a statement bow, which references the Charles James 1947 bustle, which can be found in the Costume Institute’s permanent collection.

The monochromatic color and the standard silhouette was also a nod to the timelessness of clothing. While Bad Bunny gracefully ages, the suit maintains a modern flair thanks to its classic color and shape.
