If you were to mix Sesame Street and a real honest account of the unequal power dynamics between the United States and Puerto Rico, you’d get JP Díaz’s video.

The two-minute video starts with Díaz speaking in an overly enthusiastic voice, similar to what you’d get from a TV show aimed at children. “Hi, we’ve always heard that Puerto Ricans are a bunch of freeloaders,” he said. “That without federal funding, we’d be worth nothing. But is this really true? No, it’s very false. I’ll explain.”

He then breaks down how the island receives federal aid but that it sends even more to the federal government in a variety of ways. Check out the video below.
