Despite Rauw Alejandro denying allegations Wednesday (July 26) that the breakup between him and Rosalía occurred because he cheated on her, social media users are continuing to bring up that narrative online with a multitude of threads.
“There are thousands of problems that can cause a breakup, but in our case, it was not because of third parties or infidelity,” Alejandro said in a statement.
On Thursday (July 27), Alejandro continued to defend himself against the ongoing rumors that he cheated and revealed that he and Rosalía actually ended their three-year relationship two months ago and asked to be left alone.
“Wow, most who know, we broke up exactly 2 months ago,” Alejandro tweeted. “We have responsibilities and commitments to you, our fans, [but] a break is not announced the next day. I will be many things but a liar and unfaithful is not one of those.” He wrapped up by basically asking those online if they were happy now and if they’d leave them in peace.
One of the cheating allegations spreading about Alejandro is that he cheated on Rosalía with a Spanish model named Valeria Duque, who is supposedly a super fan of both artists. Internet sleuths brought receipts as alleged proof that Duque attended Alejandro’s concerts and commented on Rosalía social media posts. Along with Alejandro, Duque has also denied the rumors on Instagram and said, “Everything they’re saying about me is false” and has these kind of accusations can “destroy reputations.”
Rosalía wrapped up the drama on Thursday when she wrote a statement on her Instagram stories section where she directly mentions Rauw Alejandro. “I love, respect, and admire Raul very much,” she said. “Don’t pay attention to the movies, we know what we have lived through. This moment is not easy, so thanks to everyone for understanding and respecting.”
