Almost a year after Ricardo Medina Jr., aka the red ranger on Power Rangers Wild Force, was arrested in connection with his roommate’s death, he is being officially charged. On January 31, 2015, he and his roommate, Josh Sutter, allegedly got into a fight, and Medina was accused of stabbing Sutter with a sword.

Though Medina was not initially charged because he claimed it was in self-defense, he was arrested yesterday morning after the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office investigated the crime and charged him with murder, according to Variety.

Medina could be in prison for 26 years if he is convicted.
